Who’s Your Five? – 4/25/20

Debbie Rieman

Proverbs 13:20 – “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”

According to LifeChurch pastor and management guru Craig Groeschel, “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.” That’s because, as he says, over time, “you will become the average of your five closest friends.”

Proverbs 13:20 says it this way: “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”

Extending the principle, recognize we will:

  • Think like the books we read most and songs we sing most.
  • Act like the characters in the movies and shows we watch most.
  • Live what we learn on the five podcasts we listen to most.

With whom are you spending your time today—and doing what? In other words, who’s your five?

Prayer Point

Lord, please bring wise, godly friends into my life. Help me make good choices about what I watch, hear, and read. Guide our leaders and give them wise companions and counselors.
