28 Feb Who We Have – 2/28/21
2 Corinthians 8:15 – “As it is written, ‘Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.”
Since we were kids, we have always been taught that sharing is caring. Even now, that principle remains true. We care for others when we give generously to them. Now giving doesn’t always have to be about money. We can care for others by giving them our time, our wisdom, and our resources. Sometimes it can be hard to give when we don’t have a lot of something, and even then, sometimes it can be hard to give when we have a lot of something. However, Paul is encouraging us to give generously because the Lord is who fills our needs and will provide for us, not our worldly possessions, money, or other people. We will never be satisfied by what we have, but we will always be satisfied with who we have: Jesus Christ.
Lord, I pray that we can give out of the overflow of your grace and kindness. I pray that we can know what it’s like to be satisfied with who we have in your Son, over what we have in the world. Thank you for being a living water, where we will thirst no more. In the name of King Jesus, Amen.
