01 May While We Were Still Sinners – 5/1/21
Romans 5:8 – “But Christ shows His love for us that even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.“
This verse, right here, is the Gospel, the Good News. That while we turned our back on God, He still paid for our debt on the cross. This verse still applies to our lives today, that even while we continue to fall short, Christ shows His love us for us through His grace: the grace that was given to us when He paid for our debts on the cross. Rest in His love; the love that set you free; the love that surpasses all knowledge and understanding; the love that allows you to be a daughter and son of the Most High King; the love that grants you access to the Creator of the heavens and the earth every moment of the day. His love is better than life and sweeter than honey – a love like no other. Rest in His never ending, unfailing, and extravagant love for your life.
Lord, thank you that while I turned away from you, you still carried the cross for me. That your love never ends and you give me grace, even when I fall short. I pray that I would remember your love and rest in knowing your love is better than anything this world could offer me. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
