06 May The Strength of our Heart – 5/6/20
Proverbs 24:10 – “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.“
Read this verse while substituting “your” with your own name. “If you faint in the day of adversity, (Haley’s) strength is small.”
Whew! What a relief – this is an excuse NOT to work on our own strength. (Not physical strength – you can still get those gains in with the Citylight morning workouts!)
In times of adversity, we need to focus not on our own strength, but on God’s strength through us. Philippians 4:13 says that “I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me.”
Not through Haley’s strength, but through Gods. Just as you find victory doing all things through God’s strength, so will you “faint” when trying to do things solely through your own.
I don’t know about you, but during a time when there is much adversity and many trials to be had, it feels like such a relief that I don’t have to go at it alone. God is always by my side, strengthening me in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
THANK the Lord for his goodness and strength which can get you through any situation. Pray that through His sufficient grace, His power would be made perfect in your weaknesses.
