The Lord is the Good Portion – 9/11/20

Isaiah 55:2 – “Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good and you will delight in the riches of fare”

How often do we find ourselves disappointed and longing for something in our lives that seems to be missing? How often we look to the things in our lives for happiness, security and satisfaction but fall short. As Christians it’s easy to say that the Lord is the center of our lives and all we need but still search for satisfaction in worldly things. I love how Isaiah points us back to the Lord and tells us to stop trying to fill our lives with things that were never meant to fulfill us. The Lord is the good food. We will be satisfied when we turn to him instead of the things of this world.

Lord thank you for being all that I need. Thank you for loving me in my brokenness. I pray that my eyes would be on you this week Lord, that I wouldn’t let my heart lean to things of this world but that you would be the only thing I look to for my worth and satisfaction. I pray that I can be faithful to being satisfied in you and you alone.
