The Judge is Standing at the Door – 6/28/20

Maria Goebel

James 5:9 Do not grumble against one another…

Have you ever been in a frustrating situation that led you to hold a grudge towards someone else? It is easy to hold grudges towards others because we hold them to a standard of our own human judgement instead of God’s judgement. James communicated this to the Christians in James 5:9 by saying, “Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.” With that being said, it is important that as a church we strive to maintain unity with each other by understanding that God’s judgement is sovereign and above our own judgement. With this truth, let us walk together in unity looking to a just God who holds the ultimate judgement.

Prayer Points

  • Pray that we as CityLight Church would be quick to show grace towards one another instead of holding grudges and frustration
  • Pray that CityLight Church would maintain unity as a people, looking together to God’s judgement and not our own.
