26 Jun The Healing of Confession – 6/26/20
James 5:16 – “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
When we see the brokenness caused by sin in our own lives it can be easy to sit in that, and not take action towards healing. Healing depends on your willingness to express your dependence on God through prayer. Expressing your dependence on God involves two things: 1. Confessing and Praying WITH each other. What is holding you back from taking action towards healing?
Confessing your sins: Vulnerability with other believers in your life leads to healing. Sin thrives in darkness but can’t live in the light. Take a moment and reflect, what sins in your life do you need to shine a light on?
Praying with each other: When we pray, we open space for the gospel to enter in and transform our souls. Who are you living in close relationship with that you can confess your sins with and pray for each other?
- Thank God for how forgiving and compassionate He is.
- Ask for forgiveness for any sins in your life.
- Pray for powerful and effective change in your life and in the life of our church.
