The Harvest – 7/15/20

Hannah Hale

Matthew 9:37-38  Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest

Have you ever experienced the disappointment of wanting to join something, but the spots were already full? Thankfully, we don’t run into this issue in doing Kingdom work. Matthew 9 explains that there are actually not enough people to fill the needs of the harvest. It says, “the laborers are few.” This passage isn’t solely talking about packing your life up and moving overseas; rather these verses exhorts believers to live missionally wherever the Lord has you. Seek the Lord through prayer and ask Him to send opportunities for you to participate in Kingdom work. We, as Citylight Church, should look for ways to participate and not just spectate.

Lord, thank You for Your perfect example of what living missionally looks like. While on Earth, You sought opportunities to further the Kingdom of God. I pray and ask that we can humbly submit our lives to You in efforts of living on mission with the goal of furthering Your Kingdom. We love You, Jesus. Amen.
