28 Mar Stewardship – 3/28/21
1 Peter 4:10 – “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.“
After reading this verse, I was reminded of the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30. When the master gives his servants talents, two of the three servants used those talents to get more talents. But one of the three servants just dug a hole in the ground and hid the talent. We need to be gracious with the talents that God blesses us with. A part of showing God that we are grateful for these gifts is to be responsible with what He has given us. When we use these gifts, I believe God will continue to bless us with more once He knows that we can handle what He has already given. So, when we use the gifts blessed upon us, through our love to one another; to believers and non-believers, we are then being the stewards God calls us to be. There is no way to repay Christ for what He has done for us other than by glorifying Him through our actions.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit and for the spiritual gifts that you have blessed each of us with, given by Your goodness and grace. I pray that we may be diligent to use the gifts and graces that have been given to us for the benefit of the body of Christ, and for Your greater praise and glory in Jesus name, Amen.
