29 Jul Remembering You – 7/29/20
2 Timothy 1:3-4 – “I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.”
I love Paul’s sincere longing for Timothy. It’s a longing that compels him to remember Timothy in his prayers night and day, to remember his tears, and to be eager for the filling of joy upon seeing him.
Who in your life do you have this godly affection for? Do you remember them in your prayers night and day? Does your joy affect the state of being in deep fellowship with your brothers and sisters?
Oh God, forgive us for the times we’ve been so focused on the context of our own lives and forget our brothers and sisters in our prayers. Help us to long and cherish for the gift of fellowship you’ve bestowed on us.
Never let us grow comfortable or complacent with the brokenness in our world and in ourselves, but rather, bring us to a place where your peace and power guide us to be your hands and feet.
