No Matter – 12/5/20

Philippians 4:11-13 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Throughout Paul’s ministry, he dealt with significant hardships while traveling and spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout the known world. He suffered physical, cultural, and financial consequences. He spent a lot of time in prison, being persecuted for proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.

No matter our circumstances in life, Jesus is central. Paul discovered that the joy of the Lord was his strength and that His grace is sufficient to provide. No matter if we are poor, rich, healthy, sick, or persecuted we have the love of Christ guiding and providing for us throughout the many complexities of life. Paul knew that God was in controlwhich allowed Paul to face the many challenges and persecutions with the confidence that God was with him always. Christ provides us with the same steadfast love, and provides us with strength and perseverance through any hardships that we may face.

Lord, please continue to watch over us and provide. Even though we may face hardships, we know that You are faithful. We have confidence in you love and your provision. Be with us in these difficult times. We love You and we trust You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
