Hebrews 13:13 – “Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured”
In the Old Testament, the old covenant between the Hebrews and the Lord was recognized as a promise of obedience through rituals and works of sacrifice. However, when Jesus died on the cross for our sins, the new covenant was established, and the gift of salvation was freely given to everyone who accepted Him as their Lord and savior. This gift was only possible through Christ leaving the camp and showing the world that new life is dying to ourselves, leaving our old lives behind, and bearing the reproach He also endured.
Prayer Point: Today let us pray that we would dutifully die to ourselves, pick up our cross, and meet him outside the camp.
