29 Nov If it Seems Slow – 11/29/20
Habakkuk 2:3 – “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end – it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay”
You and I are always waiting for something during this season. What a great word to be reminded that “if it seems slow, wait for it.” God’s promises revealed in His Word is appointed at the right time and place. He is never early nor late. Many of God’s people, like Habakkuk, have been forced to wait and look beyond their current circumstances. Abraham waited for Isaac to be born. David waited in the cave crying out to God “who fulfills His purpose for him” (Ps. 57:3). Simeon waited to see the light of salvation in Jesus (Lk. 2:30). The Apostles waited on the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4). Waiting is an act of faith. It trusts in God’s promises. Waiting places confidence in God’s character more than our circumstances. While we are waiting, He is working. God fulfills at his appointed time.
God help us wait. Helps us to be still and know that you are God; to trust in your timing and to rejoice in our waiting. May you give us spiritual wisdom and understanding as you continue to provide the details of our lives as we walk with you.
