God Was, Is, and Will Be Known – 12/13/20

Habakkuk 3:1-2“Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.”

The passage informs us that hearing of God’s fame causes God’s people to be in awe of His deeds, and in turn, implements us with a desire to see those deeds completed. For Christians, being aware of God working around us starts with awe. We cry out in need for deliverance, provision, companionship, vindicationbut awareness of God does not start with the need. Rather, it is our awe that allows us to see Him working.

Lord, I pray that we worship you in awe, and watch for your works of mercy; so we may share your deeds and others can hear of your fame. Amen.
