15 Nov God is at the Center – 11/15/20
Job 38:1-8 – “Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb”
When I first read this I was blown away, and still am, at the perspective it gave me on the Earth being created. It’s also a great reminder how infinite/eternal God is. Reread those verses and take your time letting it really sink in. Treat it as if God is questioning you in that way. How would you respond to him? I get stumped on different responses, but it always leads back to God being at the center of it all. Remember he created you, and everything you see he spoke into existence – making us from dust. Our God did that! We had no part in it. Let’s trust God, not only when things are great, but in the middle of our storms as well. He has purpose for everything.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for always being patient with me. Thank you for showing that your wisdom and understanding is far greater than mine. Forgive me for doubting you instead of worshiping you. Please give me understanding when these times arise. Guide and strengthen my confidence in you Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.
