Experiencing God’s Goodness – 3/17/21

Jessica Sanchez

Acts 20:35 – “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of Lord Jesus, how He himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive

Be generous. Jesus was generous when he died on the cross for our sins. Jesus gave himself knowing we may never love him back; that he would never receive anything from the world. Sometimes we’re so focused on what other people can do for us, we miss the blessing that comes from giving everything we have to God first. Think about it. How much more blessed would we be if we gave all of our time to Jesus and not worldly things? How much more blessed would we be if we gave our love to Jesus, and from that love, poured it out to others? It is through the giving that we receive the blessings of God’s presence – where He reveals Himself to us. As Pastor Nate has said before, you will never regret a single moment you spend with the LordLet’s be reminded of Mary and Martha. Mary chose to spend her time sitting at the Lord’s feet, instead of focusing on all else, and it was better! It’s through our giving that we get to experience God’s goodness and the reason we can love others. We love because He first loved us. To be more like Jesus is to give without ever thinking about the profit.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that we would give our time, loving generously, to you and others; the same way you have done for us. I pray that we would not focus on what we can receive, but that through our giving we can experience you. For you are far better than anything the world can offer. I pray that we would offer our lives as living sacrifices, the way you sacrificed your life for us. I pray that we would love because you first loved us. In your name we pray this, Amen.
