Do You Trust Yourself? – 5/10/20

Proverbs 28: 26 – “Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered”

During this time of uncertainty, we’re facing an increasing number of obstacles requiring us to make countless decisions. We’re having to think through things we normally wouldn’t give a second thought…Should I leave my house today? Should I go to the grocery store?

We’re having to make decisions on circumstances we didn’t see coming…What do I do about job? The pressure is absolutely overwhelming and the world we live in urges us to rely on our own strengths and to “follow our hearts” to come to a decision. Jeremiah 17:9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things…” and Proverbs 28:26 warns us that trusting ourselves for answers or counsel makes us foolish. But the scripture tells us that there is a way to relieve this pressure put on us! Our hope is in our Lord Jesus Christ and humbling our hearts to Him allows his wisdom to enter our minds. We are delivered from the snares of our own deceitful hearts by walking in the true Gospel of Christ. The uncertainties of my days are so much easier to confront knowing God is giving me His holy wisdom.

Prayer Point

Pray that you would trust solely in the Lord’s counsel and wisdom during this time of chaos and uncertainty. That you would humble your heart to let him speak wisdom into your life.
