Are you Always Whining to the Lord? – 12/12/20

“But the Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.” Habakkuk 2:20

Each day we are bombarded with distractions that cloud our judgment – political commentary, worrying about how we will pay for whatever it is we think we need, and most importantly our own sin.  Amidst these distractions we seem to think we can come up with a better solution to the world’s problems than a holy, all-knowing God – who transcends time. At times, to God, we must sound like whining toddlers. While we are called to bring our prayers and petitions to God, how rare is it for us to simply be quiet and listen.  Perhaps if we take time to be silent and listen, God will reveal his greater purposes unraveling in the world.

 Prayer:

God, I trust in your divine plan.  Help me to be quiet and listen.  Reveal to me how you want me to serve; to help carry out your greater plans and purposes, some of which I cannot even comprehend. Amen.
