Alertly listen… then speak – 5/11/20

Adrienne Schmidt

Proverbs 29: 20 – “Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them.

Loud. That’s one way I would describe much of the media during these unprecedented times. In a city where political opinions are often boisterously expressed, this is a unique time for us to exemplify Christ through our speech. This proverb describes someone who hastily speaks as having less hope than a fool. Rather than hastily speaking, let’s utilize this unique, unhurried time to alertly listen to God and His Word before speaking.

Prayer Point

Lord, may I make it my ambition to lead a quiet life (1 Thessalonians 4:11) and to use my speech to give you glory rather than speaking in haste.
