28 Nov A Trustworthy Wait – 11/28/20
Psalm 62:1-2 – “For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”
The hope for us, as believers, is placed in the security of the promises of God; thanks to the work to Jesus. We have been saved for an eternal purpose, made part of a holy family, and were given a secure future that will bring glory to God forever. With God on our side, we know that He is trustworthy. We can wait in Him, in silence, in all life’s circumstances. Our salvation belongs to Him; He already secured it.
Paul reminds us this truth in Romans 8:31-32:
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”
Whichever circumstance you are enduring, whether blessing or trial, place your soul in silence before Him today. Wait for his care, and trust in His promise.
God, help us to wait in silence for you. You are trustworthy and mighty. In you, we shall not be shaken. We praise you for calling us to yourself in Christ Jesus, for the glory of your name. Our salvation comes from you, so we quietly wait for you. We trust you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
