04 Dec A Taste of Goodness – 12/4/20
Psalm 34:8-10 – “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
Even in the midst of the pandemic, and throughout all of the Bible, those who walk with the Lord have tasted the goodness of God. We have seen the goodness of God. The biggest example of His goodness is when He died on the cross for our sins. But His goodness doesn’t stop there; it chases us and pursues us every day. With Jesus on our side, we lack nothing. For the testing of our faith produces perseverance, and through that perseverance, we are made complete and mature, lacking nothing. (James 1:2). It can be hard to see His goodness when we are facing trials, but that is when the binding and the mending of our hearts is taking place; where the Lord reveals himself and molds us into who we are meant to be according to His will. Take refuge in Him. Seek Him. Draw near to Him. He is good. Only through Him, and with Him do we lack no good thing, because every good gift comes from above. (James 1:17)
I pray that we would receive the goodness of the Lord that chases us every day.
I pray that we would remember and rejoice in what He’s already done.
I pray for a heart that seeks Him and draws near to Him in all trials and circumstances.
