A Purpose From A Savior – 8/6/20

Manuel Rosario

2 Timothy 1:10  and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel

Within the plans of God to glorify His name for eternity, God has saved us (his children) and called us to a holy and eternal purpose (v.9). This purpose, verse 10 says, is made manifest only by “the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus”. God, through Jesus, brought the gospel (“good news”) to humanity: death has been defeated and there is now a way for eternal life with God himself… “[Jesus] brought life and immortality to light”. Before the ages began, Jesus was God’s provision for us to participate in His kingdom (see John 14:6).

  • If you are a child of God, give thanks to the Lord today that, by His grace, He has included you in His eternal plans.
  • 2 Tim. 1:9 mentions that our redemption is “not because of our own works but because of his own purpose…”. Despite of us, He chose us… because He wanted! Give praise to the Lord for this immeasurable grace!
  • In Christ, immortality with God is guaranteed. Give God glory for this great purpose: He has made you a part of His family, for His glory, forever!

Father, thank you for giving us what we don’t deserve. You decided before time to save us through Jesus to partake in your eternal purposes, being with you forever. We give you the glory forever! God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit be praised now and forever! Amen.
